Why an art t-shirt works as a gift
Art teachers and art lovers tend to have strong favorites. A shirt printed with a painting they love says you paid attention, and unlike a mug or a poster, it gets worn and noticed. It also starts conversations, which art teachers in particular tend to enjoy.
Match the design to the person
For the Van Gogh fan: The Starry Night is the safest bet. Almost everyone recognizes it, and its blues and yellows look rich on a black tee.
For someone who loves Japanese art, the ocean or surfing: The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Hokusai. It is clean, graphic and works on white or black.
For the romantic or the lover of gold and pattern: The Kiss by Gustav Klimt, painted in 1907–1908 at the height of his "Golden Period."
For the film buff or vintage-cartoon fan: Steamboat Willie (1928), the black-and-white cartoon that entered the U.S. public domain in 2024.

Teacher gift ideas by occasion
Teacher Appreciation Week, the end of the school year and the winter holidays are the most common times to give a teacher gift. A group gift from a class is a nice way to share the cost.
Many art teachers wear their love of art to class, so a famous-painting tee is something they can actually use at school, on field trips to museums or at weekend art fairs.
Practical tips
Pick black or white. A white tee feels like a gallery print; a black tee makes the colors pop and looks more modern.
Our shirts are a unisex retail fit. If you are not sure of the size, a size up is usually the safer choice for a gift.
Order early. Each shirt is printed to order, so allow about 1–2 weeks for delivery within the US. You can enter the recipient's address at checkout to ship the gift directly to them.
